Artistic Pupils Praised For Park Posters
The youngsters from St George's CE Primary School, St George's Lane North, all designed a poster for the campaign, carrying the words Love Your Park.
Local policing officer for Arboretum, Paul Green and CSO Tash Harris handed out the prizes and judged the competition.
PC Green said: "The standard of design was so high it was very difficult to choose. All of the pupils gave their own interpretation to Love Your Park and really got the message across."
Headteacher, Steve Mills added: "All of the children really enjoyed the competition and used various techniques and materials to create posters that encourage people to respect, protect and enjoy their park."
The two winning posters - one from Key Stage 1 pupils and one from Key Stage 2, will now be printed and displayed around the park and in other businesses, shops and community areas in the city. The winning pupils were Lauren O'Hara, six, and nine-year-old Sam Taylor, who received bikes.
