Onondaga County Lawyers Honor Ppeers And Youths

Judges, lawyers and local students will gather at 9 a.m. Monday at the Onondaga County Courthouse to mark the 50th anniversary of Law Day.

The Onondaga County Bar Association will honor Carley Parsons of West Genesee High School for her photography, Alyssa Sherman and Summer LaPointe of West Genesee Middle School for their movie posters and Julia Calagiovanni and Kaitlyn Richards of West Genesee High School for their essays.

Lawyers being awarded the 2008 Onondaga County Bar Association Pro Bono Services Awards are: Mary C. John and Susan K. Griffith of the Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society; William L. Bergan of Bond, Schoeneck & King and Edward F. McArdle of the New York State Attorney General's Office.

Winners of the New York State Bar Association President's Pro Bono Service Awards include: Blitman & King, winner of the Small/Mid-size Law Firm Award and Michael J. Sciotti of Hancock & Estabrook, winner of the Individual Attorney Award.
