Pindi Festooned With Banners Against Imported Candidates
Some other banners read: "Is there no one in the two million population of Rawalpindi to contest by-elections for MNA and MPA seats?" and "Why are political parties importing candidates?" .These banners have been put up in every nook and corner of the city. The banners have been installed without permission from the Rawal Town administration. The authorities in the town administration are also not willing to remove the banners for the reasons best known to them.
Security arrangements finalised for by-polls: On the Election Commission of Pakistan's directive, the city district government and the district administration have made foolproof security arrangements for by-elections in Rawalpindi.
About 636 polling stations have been established in Rawalpindi to hold free, fair and transparent by-elections at three constituencies, NA-52, NA-55 and PP-10. As many as 32 polling stations out of 636 have been declared sensitive while 1,272 assistant polling officers and 3,200 polling staffers have been posted at these polling stations. Returning officers will visit these polling stations to review the arrangements after receiving nomination papers.
On the other hand, elaborate security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order in the district courts where nomination papers are being submitted.
Police and commandoes will remain present outside the office of the returning officers till the scrutiny of nomination papers and allotment of election symbols
