EMSB Commissioners Fight It Out In Court

Fokoefs said she filed a complaint with police a few days before the vote, alleging that a witness saw Perez trying to remove one of her campaign posters. She said she also told police that at least 60 of her approximately 300 movie posters had gone missing.

Perez called it a false accusation when contacted by The Gazette and said he didn't touch her posters. Perez said 15 of his 100 posters disappeared.

The case goes to municipal court on June 2.

This is the second dispute between EMSB candidates in the school board elections to land in court. The other involves George Vogas and Julien Feldman. Feldman narrowly beat Vogas in the downtown, Park Extension, Le Plateau ward - a victory that was upheld in a certified recount.

Vogas filed a motion in Quebec Superior Court in early December to contest his loss to Feldman. Among his claims, Vogas alleged that Feldman campaigned outside polling stations on voting day.

The case is still before the courts.
