Annual Art Theses Opens At Punjab University
Though issues highlighted in the artwork were subjective and stereotypical in nature, their presentation was unique and fascinated art lovers.
The project that received the most praise was designed by Muhammad Adil. He had revamped the images of tourist spots of Pakistan that had been neglected by the government departments.
Talking to Daily Times, he said that he got inspiration from sites where people come in search of love and solitude.
Another interesting project was displayed by Yashal Javed. She had designed various posters to create awareness about AIDS. Her images were in symbolic form to convey the message in a conservative society.
Mehvish Hadayt has shown the collaboration of the youth in educational institutions. She had focused on students and other groups in Pakistan and had designed the visual communications campaign in this regard.
Wajiha Khalid focused her worked on the SOS Villages, depicting helpless and homeless children who were left alone in society without any reason. She played with human emotions, keeping the children and their future in mind.
Kiran Saeed’s campaign was about violence against women, highlighting work by a non-governmental organisation, Dastak. The NGO has given shelter to a number of women. She presented various brochures and movie posters to convey her message.
Asif Javed designed the celebration of 25 years of Ajoka theatre. The theatre is one of the oldest representing social issues.
