Posters On Eve Of Shutdown

Hours before a 12-hour Maoist bandh tomorrow, a red poster was found pasted on the gate of the house of a teacher at Bandhugora in Chandil late tonight.

The posters has threatened Ebrar Ahmed, a teacher of Al Kabir Polytechnic Institute, Kapali, to vacate his house in two months' time.

Seraikela-Kharsawan superintendent of police Laxman Prasad Singh confirmed the recovery of a movie posters, but said this was a handy work of some local goons to disturb the teacher for grabbing his house.

Meanwhile, security arrangements have been stepped up in view of the bandh.

The Naxalites called the bandh in Jharkhand and Bengal's bordering districts to protest the arrest of their leader Tireng Kedia alias Mahabir by the East Singhbhum police three days ago from Patamda police station area.

To ensure that the bordering districts, especially East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan, and Purulia and West Midnapore in Bengal, remain paralysed, the rebels distributed pamphlets in Nimdih, Chandil and Patamda area today.

The police intensified patrolling in forests in Dalma range as well as in Tamar, Bundu, Chandil, Kuchai and Ghatshila. Besides, escort would be provided to commercial vehicles on the NH-33.
