Supremacist Comments On The Times
What a sorry lot you are I must say. People are dying and unable to cast a vote because of a dictator and all you can do is wish for a system like apartheid to return, writes nuncio.
I went through it and for the white movie posters it may have been a time of luxury. Certainly not for me and we still suffer the consequences as the first people in our families who were able to go to university and earn a decent wage, etc.
I still hope that what I read here represents a small percentage of the white population. My experience is that many of the white people also want to move on and to build a society based on the notions of egalitarianism. Superiority of one race, or tribe or gender have jst proven to bring out the ugly sides of our humanity.
I feel for my brothers and sisters in Zim and I feel angry that our leadership is incapable of intervening because of comradeship ties forged in the colonial era.
Yet I will not accept that some posters turn this into a racist event which it is not.
It is about abuse of state power, the dangers of a de facto one party state and liberation heros deranged with power.
Every continent has had this happening and through the experiential lesson, people have learned to hold their leaders accountable.
We in the region have known democracy for less than a century. Many people are still uneducated, do not understand democracy. It will take time but soon enough people will learn about the power vested in their vote.
It is sad to always come to the website and to see that the posters, instead of venting their frustration on ideology, or lack of it, choose to bash black people and to cause a stir with their controversial white supriority statements.
Maybe it makes you feel better. Maybe you feel that lack of colour equates to ability to rule. Be that as it may, opportunities, access to education and resources create good leaders.
Apartheid and racial patronage has never given the black man neither of these. Because of this, we have to all be patient untill this comes. Praising apartheid is just a bit too shocking, especially for this forum.
But loss of life to excercise a democratic freedom is what we must unite and fight against. Colour does not matter as most dictators don’t see colour...they use whatever is at hand to extend their grip on power, like Mugabe does.
