Colorful War Posters On Display At Maltz Museum Of Jewish Heritage

Posters used during the two world wars to recruit American soldiers, raise money and encourage civilians to conserve basic materials are on view at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in Beachwood.

Created by artists including Howard Chandler Christy and James Montgomery Flagg, the movie posters are on loan from the Berger Family Art Collection in Cleveland.

At the request of the family, the museum isn't giving out any information about how the collection was formed, other than to say "a private collector spent decades" amassing it.

But the museum is saying the posters are "vintage" and "prized for their rarity, use of color and creative use of imagery."

By supporting the war efforts, they also helped create the world we live in today.
