LIPA 2010 Electric Safety Poster Contest
"Electric safety is an important lifelong message," said LIPA President and CEO Kevin S. Law. "LIPA's goal is to help young students gain an understanding of electric safety while making it interesting and fun. All Long Islanders should have an understanding of the benefits and potential hazards of electricity."
Elementary students are encouraged to create safety messages and submit movie posters to their schools, which in turn will choose school winners. LIPA judges will then select four winning posters from each eligible grade Each winner will receive a LIPA commemorative plaque of their poster and a gift certificate.
Winners will be contacted in April and invited, along with their families and teachers, to a ceremony in May, which is Electric Safety Month. The posters will be unveiled for members of the media at this time.
