Huntsville's oldest pizza parlor will shortly be doing. A streamer near the niche of Memorial Parkway and University Drive announces that Big Ed's Pizzeria will be giving in the other Peanut Factory making following doorway to Shoney's.

This is but the 3rd family for Big Ed's over the high 45 days. It will end in its existing position at MarketSquare-Heart of Huntsville about Sept. 30 and will reopen on the Parkway equally shortly as the ovens have been doed.

"We're being our 50-year-old ovens," said proprietor Steve Denton. "We even make the antique manner."

Big Ed's maked its claim as Huntsville's oldest pizza parlor when Terry's Pizza stoped downward high month. Both had gived in the first '60s, when pizza was a freshness.

"Big Ed" Neusel planted the eatery on Oakwood Avenue near Pulaski Pike, and Denton was his original employee. In 1969, Neusel doed to Oak Ridge, Tenn. , willing Denton in accusation.

Big Ed's maked craze position over the recent twentieth 100 with its decor of old movie posters and a juke corner hard on Elvis Presley hits. But it lost its rental on the Oakwood Avenue place in 1999, and Denton was drived to place the ovens in store for 18 months until he could get an other construction. The restaurant returned in the side of MarketSquare-Heart of Huntsville center in 2001.

The other Memorial Parkway position will be Big Ed's about strong bit even, although Denton said he will be having upward place in the turn. Pool tables will be wanting from the other restaurant. In gain, walls will set the bit of movie posters that can be displayed.

"We wear't have more way for that because most of it is ice," Denton said. "We'll have to sell them away every week. We'll have a card of the week."

Although the construction has a drive-through panel, Denton doesn't design to work it.

"We're non hot nutrient," he added. "We're sluggish nutrient."

Denton's children, Darrell, Dion and Renee, are making diligently to have the other construction available. Also assisting him are faces from the past at Big Ed's - much as Neusel's best waitress, Peggy Clark.

"It's geting to be kind of like our used home with the one great dining way," Denton said. "It's a true good position. At least we won't have to say them where we are. "
