Artist Signing Set For First-Ever Coast Guard Festival Commemorative Poster

Watercolorist Denna Hauet Arnold, a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities area, has designed the first annual Coast Guard Festival commemorative poster.The poster depicts the musical fountain and a fireworks display being observed by a U.S. Coast Guard family.

Arnold said members of the festival committee approached her about doing artwork for the festival, and the idea "just evolved."The poster is available for purchase at the festival office, 113 N. Second; at the Paper Place in downtown Grand Haven; and at the Dreese Gallery in Spring Lake. Unsigned 16-by-20-inch posters are $15, 8-by-10-inch movie posters are $10, and a pack of notecards are $8.

Meet Arnold and have your poster signed 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Dreese Gallery, 701 E. Savidge.Living in West Olive.

Arnold has a master's degree in illustration from Syracuse University. She works as a consultant to Kendall College of Art and Design

The Coast Guard Festival runs through Sunday.
