Entry Auction Total Gone To All-Bit Record High

Hundreds of donations from area businesses made up 78 silent auction items and 29 live auction items. Auctioneer Spence Kidney handled the lively bidding, with most items drawing bids of at least $300 and several topping $500.
Top auction items were a night at the Maverick Hotel, an advertising package and a lawn care package, each going for $600. A NASCAR trip was just short of that $550, as was a day of beauty at local spas and salons. A Centennial afghan sold for $450.
Keeping the bidding action hot were spotters Trace Brown, Randy Gilbert, Bob Stewart, Terry O'Rorke and Jay Watkins. A steak and chicken dinner was served by One Way Youth Ministries. Auction chairman Sharon Stewart headed a committee made up of Brown, Luke Fugate, Michelle Graham, Suzanne Gilbert, Angie Kalka, Denoda Martin, Aaron O'Rorke, Pam O'Rorke, Jane Ridenour, Fran Topping, Gloria Trotter, Jaycie Young and Judy Young.
