Posters strained by Spaulding students aim to assist police booty bite out of crime

Art students from Spaulding Aerial Teach are bite police brush crime one sticker at a bit.

Recently, students from a few art classes at the aerial teach designed posters counselling residents to lock their motivation vehicles. Bratton's classmate Dana Kirkwood made a poster of a car with a large chain-lock around it and a frustrated burglar looking at it.

" I was watching TV, saw a couple of commercials and put the idea together, " Kirkwood said.

Kirkwood said despite the posters being a homework assignment, it was still fun.

" I liked it, it's a good way to give something back to the community and make them aware, " he said. " It's nice that you can walk around and see it. "

Art teacher Abra Andrews said she always welcomes activities that benefit the community and thinks the posters will do just that.

" We're happy to help out and have the kids get involved in the community, " Andrews said. " Some of the students have been victims of thefts in the parking lots, so by making the posters it may help to prevent that. "

Fellow art teacher Karen Good said the students are very active in the community and some are now working on a logo for the Rochester Riverwalk.

Like Andrew, Good said the posters should be beneficial to both the community and the students.

" Hopefully by working on the posters they'll remember to lock their doors too, " she said.

Capt. Scott Dumas was impressed by the posters and thinks they'll have a positive impact on lowering thefts from motor vehicles in the city.

" You guys really did some good work, " Dumas recently told the students. " If I would have worked on these posters it will all be stick figures. I have no artistic ability. "
