" American Music posters 1935-2007 " is ascendancy the A. N. Wilderness Gallery completed Aug. 5 and nature 56 music posters from three eras, including 14 authentic " boxing style " posters from the Cottonwoods Ballroom near Lebanon.
The Cottonwoods posters and aligned a piece of its wooden pave are from the collection of Albany renter Jim Creighton, who is working on a book about the Cottonwoods.
Salem dweller Gary Westfjord is lending 25 vintage posters from his collection, representing the Avalon Ballroom and the Fillmore Hall of San Francisco.
Kip Close of Salem's Ranch Records besides has contributed two uncommon examples of 1960s allotment Northwest venue posters.
Portland's Gary Houston of Voodoocatbox rounds out the exhibit adumbrate " Contemporary Rock posters from Voodoocatbox " influence the Core Gallery. He has 15 posters influence the Focus Gallery and 15 more in the A. N. Bush Gallery.
A drawing for six individually framed original posters will take place Aug. 5, with all proceeds benefiting the Salem YWCA and Salem Art Association. Tickets are $5 or five for $20.
These posters are in the Camas Gallery, along with seven posters designed by Chemeketa Community College graphic design students and examples of vintage 1960s clothing presented by Sam Hart of the Lil'Gypsy Boutique and Costumes, Salem.
Bush House Museum next door will not have living history this year -- it was cancelled last year due to heat concerns -- but it will have half-price tours all three days of the art fair.
The 1878 Victorian home, with many of its original furnishings and Bush family belongings, will host tours from noon to 5 p.m. on the half hour all three days.
The cost is $2, $1.50 for ages 55 and older, $1 ages 6 to 12; free to members, fair donors and ages 5 and younger.
