A spokesperson for Vale Royal Borough Council said members of the public had told the borough council they wanted to see their area tidied up.

She said: " Consultation shows that one of the main concerns for local people is to see clean streets and improvements to the environment in their neighbourhood.

" We are currently operating a zero-tolerance policy towards fly-posters and banners.

" This policy ensures the streets, roundabouts and public areas of our borough remain tidy and it actively discourages graffiti and other forms of environmental crime. "
